Water is the Earth’s universal solvent. As water passes through the atmosphere in different forms, it picks up impurities and gases. It also picks up minerals as it travels through the earth as ground water, causing your water to be “hard”. Hard water is water that contains dissolved minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron and manganese. These minerals are found in plentiful supply.
